A successful Field Service Engineer candidate is responsible for ensuring a high rate of customer satisfaction through the installation, troubleshooting, repair and support of new and legacy Standard-Knapp packaging equipment at the customer’s facility. The candidate must have a background in automation and have strong PLC knowledge. Field Service Engineer will be required to write detailed service reports for each job and report directly to the service manager.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Installation, start-up, commissioning and test of the company’s equipment supplied to a customer plant.
- Technical assistance, both mechanical and electrical, during and after warranty period on site or by phone.
- Training customer’s employees and other services on the equipment delivered to the customer.
- Other tasks as required to fulfill their mandate.
Assets & Experiences:
- Proficiency in Machine Automation, Mechanics, and Electronics
- 3+ years Field Service experience in a similar industry preferred
- Proficiency in Rockwell Automation software, specifically RSLogix 5000
- Conversational Spanish an asset

Master Electrical Machine Builder

Under supervision of Foreman, assemble and test a variety of electrical components and complicated circuits to machines in accordance with electrical assembly drawings, schematic wiring diagrams, sketches, and specifications to comply with quality and safety standards.
Plan and lay out work, assembly sequence, test procedure, component arrangement and wiring patterns. Mount components to chassis or panels. Install and connect wiring harness to terminals. Test circuits. Regulate and adjust units to test for operational reliability and proper performance.
Assemble, erect and test complicated machines requiring accurate fitting, aligning, and timing. Work from complicated assembly drawings, sketches, and parts lists.
This is highly diversified work requiring use of considerable judgment to diagnose and remedy trouble. Perform electrical maintenance work when required.

We are seeking a Master Machine Builder to join our team in Portland, CT as a Master Machine Builder. We have a full time first shift opening for an experienced machine builder. Plus, the opportunity to join the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Union.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assemble, erect, and test complicated machines requiring fitting, aligning and timing. Work from complicated assemble drawings, sketches and part lists.
- Pipe complicated special machines complete with pneumatic and hydraulic components and make necessary adjustments and tests. Work from pneumatic and hydraulic schematic diagrams and sketches.
- Perform such operations as drilling, tapping, scraping, reaming, turning, filing and fitting by hand. Sharpen tools. Operate all required equipment. Have required tools.
- Diversified work requiring considerable independent judgment to complete assembly and piping and make final adjustment. Operate a variety of machine shop equipment including but not limited to saws and presses. Set up, lay out and perform all operations involving various types of work on these machines.
- Work to all types of blueprints and sketches, make minor repairs on the machines that he/she operates, and have necessary tools for this type of work.
- Have knowledge to use precision tools and instruments as may be required.
- Supervision is always available.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent education and experience required.
- Must be able to read & interpret blueprints.
- Demonstrated skill working in a team environment.
- Must have a positive attitude.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus
